Scott Sizemore to Miss the Rest of 2013
Turns out Scott Sizemore‘s injury is a little more serious than initially thought. On Tuesday, Sizemore will undergo surgery to repair another torn ACL, the same one he tore to open Spring Training in 2012 that caused him to miss last season. Andy Parrino looks to be the beneficiary of this as he is up with the club in Anaheim and probably will get to share duties with Eric Sogard to a degree.
Sizemore had very limited exposure in 2013 appearing in just two games, managing six plate appearances during which he went 1-for-6. Don’t know what this means for the future of Sizemore. I presume in the interim he lands himself on the 60-day disabled list but after missing two seasons in a row the A’s might not be so hesitant to expose him to waivers as an out of options player come 2014.
