Jim Miller Recalled from Stockton

September 4, 2012

Jim Miller did not pitch in Stockton, nor was in the minors for ten days. This is all because of a sneaky little move by Billy Beane and the A’s brass. By optioning him to the Cal League’s Ports, the A’s could avoid the whole ten days before recalling thing because the Ports season ended yesterday. That was the nifty move they utilized, that means Miller is back to be extra filler in the A’s bullpen. Simple as that. His inclusion in the bullpen doesn’t change the calculus much to me, just gives the A’s an extra arm out there and there is no complaining about that.
